The Berkshire Potters Collective is proud to announce a juried show this summer

Revolutionary Teapots

in the gallery space at Chesterwood, Stockbridge, MA

Commemorating our 250th Anniversary as a nation, the Berkshire Potters Collective (BPC) is proud to announce the opening this summer of a unique juried show, aptly titled “Revolutionary Teapots,” in the gallery space at Chesterwood, the former summer home, studio and gardens of America’s foremost 20th century public sculptor, Daniel Chester French.

Ceramic artists are invited to enter their interpretations of what it might mean to be a “Revolutionary” teapot (endowed with the forms, colors or symbols associated with 1776 and our early history); or a “revolutionary” teapot (a vessel that defies norms or stretches boundaries); or, simply, wonderfully unique!

Leslie Ferrin, gallerist and leading specialist in contemporary ceramic art, will judge the show and designate award winners.

Awards are sponsored by Harney & Sons Fine teas.

Virtual Clay Conversations

We’re moving the “Clay Conversations” to a virtual event. We can discuss anything and everything you’d like about clay, from a specific piece to a general question. For example:

“Here are two similar mugs I made with different handles. Which handle do you think is most effective?”

“How is everyone liking the new porcelain at the BAC studio?”

“Does anyone use speckled clay and why?”

“Here is a vase I made. Does anyone have suggestions for a better glaze application?”

“Can anyone help me set up my new kiln?”

If you have a specific piece you would like to discuss, please upload a picture to share at the meeting.

Member registration —> HERE. A Zoom link will be sent shortly before the meeting date.
